One of our parents who is a member of the Reserve Officer
Association was made aware of internship opportunities at The White
House. I'm not aware of any Mountaineers in key roles is the White
House but Senator Byrd represents us well in the neighborhood.
The White House Internship program provides
a unique opportunity not only to develop as a leader but to network
individuals interested in serving the nation. In addition to normal
office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, volunteer at special
events, participate in tours, and contribute to a community service
project in the Washington, D.C. area. White House Internships are
unpaid positions and participants are responsible for arranging
their own transportation and housing. Approximately 100 interns
are chosen each spring, summer, and fall to participate in this
